Upcoming Fifty Shades of Slay Publication

I mentioned a couple weeks back that one of my short stories was picked up for publication. The other day I was given an eta for the FIFTY SHADES OF SLAY publication. The anthology should be released just in time for Halloween through Alucard Press, so if you like scary stories and are interested in reading my latest release--along with stories by many other great wordsmiths--keep an eye out for FIFTY SHADES OF SLAY. My story is titled Have Faith.
Happy reading!

Meeting Levar Burton

After watching a great talk by Levar Burton, it was wonderful getting to meet him, although very brief. Fans of Star Trek and Reading Rainbow will understand my enthusiasm. I did point him toward Cleveland ConCoction with a card. Would be great to see him there some day. Talk about a cool, down to earth guy.

Mallory Heart Gives A Life of Death 5 Stars!

My paranormal coming-of-age series, A Life of Death, just received yet another glowing review, this time from Mallory Heart Reviews. In it, Mallory said, "A LIFE OF DEATH is a stunner, a literate trove of paranormal, supernatural, moral integrity, lyrical prose in one can't put down package." That is true praise. You can read the whole review on her website at http://archiestandwoodsreviewsandwritings.blogspot.com. Or you can get your own copy of the Amazon e-book here. It is also available on most other e-book retailers.

Live Long and Prosper, Leonard Nimoy!

Today is a sad day for science fiction and the writing and acting community as a whole. We must say goodbye to a part of our childhoods, a man who made us laugh, cry, and provided a fair and balanced look at the world and society through the Star Trek franchise. Goodbye, Leonard Nimoy. You will be missed, cherished for your contributions to society, and remembered. Live long and prosper.

To read the actual account of his life and death, here is the New York Times article: http://www.nytimes.com/2015/02/27/arts/television/leonard-nimoy-spock-of-star-trek-dies-at-83.html?_r=0

New Release: The Priors!

While the serialized episodes of my latest series, The Priors (Amazon or B&N), have been coming out each week over the last couple months, I'd like to announce the release of both e-books in their entirety tomorrow, February 1st. Also, a special shout out to Simon Critchell, graphic artist with S&S Creative, for the cover work. If you are a fan of vampires, evolved humans, government abduction, and parallel universes, The Priors is for you!

Here is what Ramona Plant from the Paranormal and Horror Lovers Goodreads group had to say after reading her ARC of Book 1, To Kill a Priest:

"Weston is quickly becoming one of my favorites authors out there. This book is absolutely mind blowing and makes it impossible for you to put it down. This book is so unique and different from anything I have ever read."

The entire review can be found on Goodreads.com.

The Priors - Book 1, To Kill a Priest: (Available for pre-order until February 1st)

The universe is much larger than people think—with worlds spanning into infinity and human kind evolving into everything from vampires to the unknown. Are you one of these unlucky few?

Madelin is, and the government black-op agency called PASTOR knows it. To free herself from their clandestine clutches, she will have to trust an unknown godfather… the only family she has left after the agency’s murderous tendencies. As she strives to overcome her medically induced amnesia, she and her newfound friends must test the limits of this world and break them. The government has secret plans for her future if she remains… but will the next world be any better?

Available at:

Barnes and Noble

The Priors - Book 2, To Kill an Assassin: (Available for pre-order until February 1st)

Mutations abound in far-reaching worlds and some planes are being devastated by war. The PASTOR agency has an agenda to do so much more… including ruling them all.

It is up to Madelin and her evolved friends to not only stop the black-op agency, but free the other victims—including those attempting to kill her. She must discover her own abilities and learn to harness them… or else entire worlds will be overrun.

Even then… it may be too late.

Step into an alternate world that stretches the boundaries of our own so much you'll wonder what fate has in store for us.

Thoughts of a Horror Nerd

Dale Herring of The Geekdom of Gore just posted his personal review of A Life of Death, Book 2: The Golden Bulls, and I couldn't be more excited.

When you send a novel to a book reviewer for an honest review, you really have no idea what their reaction will be. Book reviewers can be some of the harshest critics or the most adamant supporters, but it's wonderful to read what they really think. For an author, it's paramount to contact book reviewers and literary critics. Their posts go out to hundreds if not thousands of readers looking for the best recommendations on books to pick up.

So, without further ado, check out Dale Herring's thoughts on book 2 of A Life of Death.

Wag the Fox Guest Post

I am happy to announce a guest post on the Wag the Fox book blog. It's about psychics and the supernatural--exploring the potential truths of ghosts and the paranormal. Paranormal books are all the rage right now, as are ghost hunting shows, but how much of that is real and how much speculation? Would you have abilities if you had the choice?

To read more, Wag the Fox!
